And now for our quarterly update of the Eater 38, your answer and ours to any question that begins, "Can you recommend a restaurant..." This highly elite group covers the entire city, spans myriad cuisines, and collectively satisfies all of your restaurant needs, from taco trucks to fine dining. Reminder: restaurants must be open at least six months to qualify for the 38 (and that excludes all of fall's hottest openings this time around).
January's update welcomes the following to the Eater 38: South Austin taco experts Papalote, 38 veterans Counter Cafe and Mi Madre's. Eater is sad to say goodbye (for now) to Stiles Switch, Tamale House East, and Sway. These new updates are mapped in no particular order below.
24 Swift's Attic
The inventive and playful Swift's Attic is all about the dining mash-up. From their Monday night Big Ass Burgers to the remixed childhood classic desserts, it's a restaurant unafraid to have fun.
